Clay Psalms 31:12

KJV Psalms 31:12
12.  I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

I have long wondered how man can be a broken vessel, and still be reformed like clay.  When a vessel of clay is fired, there is no power on earth that can make it soft again, so that it can be reformed.  Of course, all things are possible with God the creator.

But then this thought finally occurred to me.  We are formed vessels, all of our lives.  And we can be cracked and broken.  And we can also be reformed.  We are tried through the fire.  And we are not tried by no other then through the watchful eye of the Lord.  That is where we are hardened.

Before we are hardened by the fire, we are offered the living water the word of God.  When we accept this water, it will soften the clay.  Allowing the potter to reshape us.  It is after we are shaped in his image, that we enter the fires.

KJV Job 10:9
9.  Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?

KJV Job 33:6
6.  Behold, I am according to thy wish in God’s stead: I also am formed out of the clay.

KJV Isaiah 64:8
8.  But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

KJV Jeremiah 18:4-6
4.  And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
5.  Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
6.  O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

KJV Romans 9:21
21.  Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
