Proverbs 10 Wind and Foundation

KJV Proverbs 10:25

25. As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

What are the physical aspects of the text? One day it may be windy, as the sun sets the wind calms and is no more. Wind is something that may be present one day and gone the next day. The righteous are compared to a foundation. A foundation is the beginning of a building. The condition of the foundation effects the entire building physically and monetarily. A building with a poor foundation will not last long and will never be worth much.

Wind

KJV Exodus 10:13

13. And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

KJV Exodus 10:19

19. And the Lord turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.

KJV Exodus 14:21

21. And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

KJV Genesis 41:27

27. And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

KJV Psalms 1:4

4. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

KJV Psalms 148:8

8. Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word:

KJV Proverbs 10:25-26

25. As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

Wind is used to symbolize a trial and is also used as a symbol to represent the end of a trial.

Foundation

KJV Hebrews 1:10

10. And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

KJV Hebrews 11:10

10. For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

KJV 1 Corinthians 3:10-11

10. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

KJV Ephesians 1:3-5

3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4. According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5. Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

KJV Ephesians 2:20

20. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

KJV Hebrews 9:25-27

25. Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 26. For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

KJV 1 Peter 1:19-21

19. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20. Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21. Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

The foundation of the earth was built by God and symbolizes Christ.

Wind is used to symbolize a trial and is also used as a symbol to represent the end of a trial.

KJV Proverbs 10:25

25. As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

To paraphrase Proverbs 10:25

As the trial (whirlwind) passes, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous are everlasting in Christ (foundation).
