8. Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

This parable provides an example showing how one word can uncover the spiritual meaning of a text.
In this parable there is a woman that had ten pieces of silver which is a measure of money. She looses one of the pieces, lights a candle and sweeps the house looking for the lost coin. When she finds the lost silver she rejoices by calling her friends and neighbors to celebrate. In this parable she tells them she had found what she had lost.
SilverKJV Proverbs 2:3. Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4. If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5. Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
KJV Proverbs 3:13. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. 14. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
KJV Psalms 12:6. The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
KJV Psalms 119:72. The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.
Silver = knowledge, understanding, the word of God, His law.
There are two ways we can paraphrase Luke 15:8-10.
