4. What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5. And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
7. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
This is an example showing how easy a study can be. Most people know what a sheep represents in the Bible, but few have any idea how to prove it from the Bible. It is a simple process. Look the word up in a Concordance or on a Bible computer program. Find the texts which describe what a lamb represents and collect the text.

6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

6. My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

17. Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.
Sheep = people or a person, God’s followers.
Rewrite the text substituting the spiritual owrd for the physical word.
Jesus spoke this parable. Which of you leading a hundred people, if he loses one, does not leave the ninety none in the wilderness to go after the person which is lost? When he has found him, carries him on his shoulders, rejoicing. When he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying, “rejoice with me, I have found the person which was lost.” There will also be joy in Heaven over one sinner that repents, more than the ninety nine that have no repentance.
